Year: 1986 Make: Volvo Model: 240 DL Wagon Engine: B230F / +T / MS / AW-71 Color: Blue w/ Blue Leather Interior Mileage: 219,000 (and counting) I don't want to get into any long explanations about the car, several of you know the story behind it. I'd like to think it's a good platform for someone that essentially wants to finish up what I've not had the time or money to do over the past year. This car needs to have ignition control hooked up for tuning purposes and life will be much better. The car now gets ~17mpg city and ~23mpg highway, will fire up in any condition and idle without much of a problem, it has never left me on the side of the road. There are some things on the car that were obviously thrown together and could use some attention (mainly the IC piping and the exhaust). 161rwhp/215rwtq @ 8.5psi Best 1/8th: 9.994@71mph -- Best 1/4: 15.59@86mph (w/ me driving, I suck) Here are the parts currently installed on the car (in no order and likely missing a few items): - AW71 Automatic Transmission ($267.50 for transmission + $86 for seals/gaskets) - Volvo "B" Camshaft ($60 from mAyDaY) - MegaSquirt ECU (Assembled unit, preloaded software, unterminated wiring harness "Kenny kit" - $300) - Volvo 850 Throttle Position Sensor ($25 and homemade adapter plate) - Garrett T3(.42/.48) Turbo (rebuilt on 2/17/2005) - Stock Intercooler ($30? PVC piping) - 700-series downpipe & cat - Cat-Back pipe, flowmaster exhaust, new chrome tips (+mounted for $80...nice) - Summit Racing cutout ($20 - mountedjust before muffler) - AutoLite 63's (About a .035 gap - replaced plug wires at same time) - 700-series front lip/valence - Oil & Transmission Coolers - Electric fan - 24lb LT1 Fuel Injectors - 3bar FPR / Fuel Rail (off 700-series) - Customized Oil Feed Line/Oil Manifold (for sensors and feed line) - Drilled block for oil return - RActive cone filter - GlowShift Boost & Oil Temp. Guages + 2 Guage Dash Pod ($75) - Sunpro Oil Pressure Guage ($18 - mounted next to speedo cluster) - OEM Tachometer replacement for dash clock - Foglights (bulbs currently busted) - Bilstein HD Shocks & Struts (Shocks: $149.50 - Struts: $231.40) - IPD Adjustable Torque Rods w/ Polyurethane Bushings ($100) - Brembo solid disc rotors & Pagid pads on rear ($98) - Hancook 195/70/R14 tires all around ($125) - 6-30-05 - Painted steel wheels (graphite) - JVC KDSX780 CD player ($124) - Pioneer Speakers (4'' front doors / 6.5'' rears) - Interstate MT-34 Batter ($60) - MBC (included but not installed - $20) *I included prices on stuff I could remember. Some parts were either free or not worth metioning!* The known bad: - It needs ignition control... it's basically a pig without it - MS needs to be re-wired (really just LH needs to be removed) - IC piping needs to go, it's extremely sturdy but come on... it's PVC - The exhaust is too small.. stock turbo size, needs 3'' for max powa - Floor area under driver side was replaced outside the car as it was a gaping hole when I got it, it leaked water but its all sealed now - Area on driver side front floor is missing carpet (from formentioned hole and water). It was taken out before I got the car - Driver side door had to be taken off and hinge area needed to be remade (it had basically fallen through and turned into a hole and the door wouldn't open). We welded it all back together but the door wasn't aligned JUST right so it sits a little off, still works fine you can just see it if you think about it. - Has a couple of tears here and there on the seats (mainly the top of the rear seats). Drivers seat was replaced at some point w/ a seat of similar color but from a different car so it is not heated. - Couple of misc. plastic pieces in the interior are broken (under armrest in front, seat belt cover area on driver side) - Couple of misc. exterior dents on the hood - Paint is faded on the roof in front of luggage rack area - I was in a wreck with it (only one I know about with the entire life of the car). I rear-ended Kenny (linuxman51) at under 15mph and broke the mounts for the front headlights and one signal and pushed in the lower metal support at the bottom of the headlight area (see pics). No frame damage, nothing major broken, no damage to other car. I priced out all new headlights and turn signals on ebay for ~$250. I hit the brakes so hard my front bumper went under his rear bumper, hence so much damage on my end - Grill was broken in crash as well - AC does not work. Everything is still there, could just need a charge but I never really cared. To my knowledge that is all that is wrong with the car. I will be happy to answer any questions anyone has on the car. I know it's not in perfect shape and I am being bluntly honest about everything, maybe too honest! I don't want anyone to think this is something it is not, it needs some love, it's quick for what it is, and I'm ready to move on. Oil changes are regular every 3,000 miles w/ 10w30 oil. Some other misc. parts have been replaced over the course of it's life (the rack & pinion, over drive relay, etc.). With the car you will get all the misc parts I have (extra valve cover and gasket, old cam, Haynes manual, and some more junk), all the tunes I've ever done for the car (if you want them anyways, the current tune is the best though), all paperwork (reciepts, dynographs, etc.), and a clean title! Asking price is $1200 (I'm kinda stuck on that price as the KBB value is $900 for "fair" condition car w/ 219k) I will NOT ship the car, too much hassle, so local pickup only. I might be willing to work out driving a ways to meet someone. I feel this is a fair price considering that it is a +T w/ MS and an AW71, etc. Just the parts I have listed accumlate to over $1800. Most of the parts were installed within the last 1.5-2 years. I really can't think of anything else to include in this, if you have questions please feel free to post them up or PM me. Test drives are available to anyone that wants to come to my house :) *The major hardware components(turbo, coolers, etc.) were from the 760(which was abandoned, and thus, free)* THE OFFICIAL PARTS CAR FOR +T PROJECT: 1985 Volvo 760Ti 1 / 2 Pictures(some large files): Initial Purchase -- 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 10-11-2004 -- New Headlights / 1 / 2 / 3 / Re-Fab'd Air Intake / 5 TURBO PROJECT PICTURES -- Oil Cooler 1/2 / Old Exhaust / Trans.
